Community Service

Though not a service organization, Loveland Masters provides a few service and giving opportunities to its members. We find these activities build esprit de corp as well as an opportunity to know members outside the pool setting, in addition to getting our name into the community in a very positive light. We assist with two local non-profit organizations that support people in need in our community.

The Loveland Community Kitchen

The Community Kitchen provides hot, nutritious meals seven days a week to those in need. There is no fee for the meals, but donations are accepted. Anyone in the community is eligible have a meal, no questions asked. Meals are served Monday through Friday from 11:30am-12:30pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 3-4 pm. Each day the kitchen is set up, cleaned up, and meals served, by volunteer teams. Learn more about the Loveland Community Kitchen.

Every other month Loveland Masters Swimming volunteers to serve meals on the third Saturday. This requires participation by 5-6 people, and a time commitment of approximately three hours – 2-5 pm, set-up, through serving, and clean up. Notices go out in the monthly newsletter asking for volunteers to assist and the specific day needed. For more information about the Loveland Community Kitchen contact Loveland Masters swimmer Terry King.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Each year during the Thanksgiving Holiday, Loveland Masters swimming asks that members as well as guests bring in non-perishable food to be donated to the House of Neighborly Service. We collect food on Thanksgiving morning through the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Food items should be non-perishable, preferably in cans, boxes or plastic containers (try to avoid glass jars).
