Each year on the last Saturday of January, Loveland Masters hosts the annual Sweetheart Swim Meet. The meet includes: 50, 100, and 200 of each stroke, 100, 200, and 400 individual medley, the 500 freestyle, in addition to some fun relays. The meet starts in the morning, and usually wraps-up between 12 and 1 pm. Loveland Masters prides itself on hosting a fun, and relaxing meet. Sign-ups are posted in mid-December.
On January 6, 2018, Loveland Masters Swimming founder Kevin Polansky passed away while doing what he loved best—swimming. Kevin’s long career as a swimmer, coach, and ambassador for the sport of swimming will be missed. To memorialize his contributions, in 2019 Loveland Masters renamed the annual Sweetheart Meet, to the Polansky Sweetheart Meet.
